Dryer Vent Cleaning Cannot Be Avoided
The other day my daughter had asked me to take a look at her clothes dryer because it was taking hours to get one load dry. So I pulled the dryer out and reached into the vent and pulled out a handful of dryer lint. I then opened up the back of her dryer and found that the bottom of her dryer was caked with lint and the heating element had a lot of lint on it as well. So I cleaned out her dryer. And because I work for All Clean Air Duct Cleaning, this really ticked me off. I proceeded to go outside and professionally clean out her dryer vent. Needless to say I got out a whole trash bag full of lint from the vent alone. My daughter took the bag over to her apartment manager, showed her the bag , and told her that her dad did this professionally and would be more than happy to give them a quote for a deal on getting all of them cleaned. My daughter told me that the manager got mad that I cleaned her dryer vent. The manager got kind of upset that my daughter took the initiative to get her dryer vent cleaned out and stated to my daughter that they themselves clean them every two months. Upon my departure from the apartment complex, I saw the maintenance guy walking around from building to building with a ladder and a bucket that had only a brush in it. I got curious and waited to see what he was doing with the bucket and brush. Sure enough he was going to all the dryer vents on the buildings and just brushing off the lint that was hanging out of “mostly all” of the vent covers. If you know of this happening anywhere, please ask them to contact a professional air duct cleaning company in their area. This is a major fire hazard and they would be saving the lives of many tenants if they do this.
