No job too big for efficiency nor proficiency !

Recently, I sent my air duct crew to a larger than usual residential cleaning, which consisted of five furnace systems in the same house. I don’t recall the square footage, but each furnace was located in different areas of the building. Which means there was also a lot of trunk line as well as openings to clean out. So we scheduled our usual 2 man crew for this job and as I was briefing the lead technician on the specifics, he thought that it would be a good idea to send a third technician due to the size and time constraints of the job. Turns out he was correct in his decision to take a third technician. It helped them to spread the work out by having prep work done as they got to the different areas of the cleaning, and also taking care of  difficult situations beforehand  and therefore they were able to be more thorough and get the job done right and in a timely manor. The work was done for a property manager and everyone knows how hard it is to please them. This person had gotten several bids for this job, and even though our bid was the highest of all of the bids, he chose us because he was really impressed with the way Josh, our lead technician, had conducted the estimate and really knew what he was doing and could tell that he had been doing this kind of work for awhile. The property manager was ” So” impressed that he placed a review on Google. I am very impressed with all of my techs and the quality of work that they put forth.

Dryer Vent Tuesday’s

This past week on Tuesday I cleaned 6 dryer vents. I found this to be funny because it seems that the past few weeks I have been cleaning nothing but dryer vents on Tuesdays so I hereby declare that from now on Tuesday’s be officially known as DRYER VENT TUESDAYS.
On a serious note it is very crucial to have your dryer vent regularly cleaned by a proffesional. The National Air Duct Cleaning Society recommends this is done once a year. By having your dryer vent cleaned it will help with the efficiency of your dryer saving you time and money. As well as it is one of the biggest causes of house fires.
So if your interested in getting your dryer vent cleaned have one of All Clean Inc’s proffessional’s come by and clean it out.

In Air Duct Cleaning a little price doesn’t always go a long way.

Recently, we arrived at the  house of someone we had cleaned for about 3 years ago.  As we began estimating the system for the price quote, the customer admitted to having another company out sometime last year because they thought they could get the same quality of cleaning for a lower price. When they called us to come out, they said they were still having dust and breathing issues about a week or so after the other guys left. Our technician saw on the other company’s invoice that they charged separately for every section of the system that they could, making the price go higher for each thing they added. They decided to only certain parts of the system since the price was so high. Because they only did parts of the system, they got a partial cleaning for a high price.  Upon our estimate we give one price up front and even though it might be less, just as much or somewhat higher than the other guy, we clean the “Whole” system. They are still impressed with the quality work we provided.  After  three months and a courtesy call to them, they stated that they are not having any issues and will never use anyone else again.

Beware of scams…..

Every Fall and Winter, the air-vent cleaning scams appear once again.  Households can be charged hundreds of unnecessary dollars for “additional services” without some basic knowledge.  Here are three facts to save you time and money.

First, reputable companies do not conduct home visits prior to cleaning your air vents.  The purpose of such visits is to gain entry to someone’s home to recommend additional services such as mold or bacterial remediation, or cleaning of the furnace fan and trunk cords – all at additional cost.  In fact, reputable companies already include cleaning of the furnace fan and trunk cords along with air vents.  These companies have pre-set prices based on number of air vents, and whether your home is considered large or small.

Second, there is no legitimate “swab” test of mold in home air ventilating systems that delivers a result in 15-20 minutes.  The only trustworthy test of mold in the air vents is a robotic “duct eye” camera that allows customers to see the mold directly.  No reputable company will recommend mold remediation without showing it to the customer firsthand.

Utah’s dry climate makes a true case of mold hard to come by.  One local company told us they had not seen a true case of mold in an air ventilating system even once in the past five years – yet they frequently charge customers for the diagnostic test.  Another company acknowledged it to be “really rare,” saying they had seen only one or two legitimate instances.

An industry expert out of North Carolina told us that “your nose” is the most accurate mold test.  The best sign of mold is a persistent musty odor.  The most likely culprit is not your air vents, but rather damaged air conditioning coils that need servicing to prevent mold from growing and then blowing into your home through the air vents.

Third, avoid any companies that lack agitation systems that brush or whip the dust off the inside of air vents before vacuuming it out.

Also, the industry standard recommendation for home air-vent cleaning is once every five years, and once every three-four years for homes with furnaces (since furnaces build up dust more quickly than electrical or other heating systems.)

Armed with knowledge, your air vents can be cleaned without your wallet being cleaned out at the same time.

Don’t let little things put you out in the cold!

It’s time to run those furnaces again and to make sure you have a warm and cozy winter, get those air ducts cleaned out. And while your at it have those dryer vents cleaned out as well. I don’t think anyone wants a dryer fire to put them out in the cold. Dampness can build up from humidity in certain spots in the vent and cause the lint to back up as far as down into the back of the dryer. That is where the fire starts is at the dry lint in the back from buildup. So check them regularly ( approx every 1 to 2 months). And have a safe and happy winter season!!

Reasons Why Air Duct Cleaning is important

Air duct cleaning is especially important due to the climate that is experienced in that area. Air duct cleaning refers to the complete cleansing of a building’s heating vents, ventilation as well as the air conditioning system. When people hear the term air duct cleaning they tend to believe it only involves cleaning of the air ducts. This is a gross misconception though as the process of cleaning the air ducts alone is not sufficient. When it comes to air duct cleaning, you have to consider the entire system. For one, the blowers and coils have to be cleaned very once in a while so as to ensure that they are operating efficiently. In addition to that, air duct cleaning, for one’s air conditioning system, ensures that you breathe clean air in your house and it also goes a long way in saving energy.

When it comes to air duct cleaning, you have to consider the number of things that your heating system and ventilation system do to ensure comfort in your home. This heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, also known as HVAC, does not only function to cool the air but it also functions to remove droplets of moisture in the air. This is especially important for humid climates thus it should be taken into consideration when it comes to air duct cleaning. The warm air in the house tends to be moist in humid climates. This air is drawn into the cold condenser and the coils in the contraption remove the heat from the air all the while letting the moisture contained in the air run into a condensation pan. This mechanism is what enables the air in the building remain cool and dry.

Due to the condensation process, the coils tend to almost always have some water on them. This is similar to the way the mirror in your bathroom will have a lot of condensation right after you have taken a shower. The additional moisture makes it quite easy for dust and other particles to embed themselves on the coils. As the dust particles keep accumulating on the coils over time, it becomes harder for them to function optimally. This results in slowing down of the cooling process of the air. In addition to this, your HVAC system will not be able to dehumidify your environment any longer. These complications lead to your HVAC system trying to work much harder and could end up damaging it in the long run. Thus it is very important to ensure that you enlist air duct cleaning services every once in a while to ensure that this process is not taking place.

Another thing to consider is that the air ducts in your HVAC system tend to be cooler than the air that is contained in your home. When the system is not running properly, moisture contained in the air tends to condense in the ducts too. In humid climates, this could prove quite damaging as the air condenses faster and the dust accumulates quicker. If you do not engage in air duct cleaning, you will end up breathing in the dust that is quickly building up in your air vents rather than clean air.

The Importance Of Using A Dryer Vent Brush

Dryer lint traps are one of the leading causes of fires in households today. Without proper cleaning and maintenance, the accumulated lint can catch fire, and lead to devastating results and the loss of your entire home. There are many different tools which one can use to help in the cleaning of dryer ducts. The most common of these tools is the dryer vent brush.

So, what exactly is a dryer vent brush? A dryer vent brush is a tool specified for cleaning out the dryer vents and ducts thoroughly. Usually, the brush has a very long, flexible pipe handle that allows one to reach far back into the dryer vent and extract as much lint as possible out of the vents. These brushes make cleaning the dryer vents simple, which means it can be done much more often, an important characteristic considering neglect to this topic can possibly lead to the destruction of your home, and jeopardize the safety of your family.

Other than the dryer vent brush, there are other items which help you to clean. There are full dryer duct cleaning kits available to purchase which include everything needed to clean out the dryer ducts, including a dryer vent brush. The full cleaning kits are the most recommended purchase for those looking to clean their dryer vents because this is a job which should be done well, and no corners should be cut short.

It is recommended that you clean out your dryer lint traps with a dryer vent brush at least once a week, and clean out the screen of the lint trap before each and every cycle. This will ensure the least chance of a lint fire from your dryer, and keep you home, family, and yourself safe throughout every use. Also, remember that the lint will be accumulated very deep inside the ducts, sometimes in places where you cannot reach. There are many different lengths of brushes available for this very reason, and a lot of them are sold with the dryer vent cleaning kits. This is why it is strongly recommended to buy a full dryer vent cleaning kit over a single dryer vent brush, so you will have every tool you need to finish the job thoroughly and quickly.
